To dress/to put on
In this video we will learn the difference between the verbs надевать, одевать and одевать.

Надевать (что? на кого?) means “to put on” and we have to add an item of clothing afterwards:
- Я надеваю куртку и иду на улицу
- Я надеваю куртку на сына
Одевать (кого? как? во что?) means “to dress (someone)” and requires a person afterwards:
- Я одеваю сына тепло
- Во что ты одеваешь сына зимой
Одеваться (как?) is a reflexive verb and can’t have a direct object. It means “to dress (yourself)”:
- Я одеваюсь модно
By the way, if you want to say “to wear clothes”, you have to say “носить одежду“.
